SALAMA CARE

Salama Care Organization - Kenya

The Salama Care association is committed to empowering disadvantaged members of our society through compassionate care and comprehensive support.

We are active in two key areas:

Therapy for children

Support for children with cerebral palsy and their families

We offer specialized occupational therapy for children with cerebral palsy while providing important support for their families. In communities where these children are often neglected or hidden away due to stigma and prejudice, we work to break down barriers and promote understanding.

Our comprehensive approach includes:

  • Professional occupational therapy for children with cerebral palsy

  • Group sessions for relatives

  • Regular home visits for ongoing support

  • Educational initiatives to reduce stigma

  • Building support networks for families with similar challenges

We observe that relatives often do not have sufficient support, even though they dedicate their lives to caring for these children. Through our programs, we help build relationships and show that these families deserve respect and support - not isolation.

Strengthening young mothers

Our shelter program targets pregnant teens who face significant social challenges in our community.

Young, unmarried mothers often experience rejection, shame and abandonment - just when they need support the most. We offer them a safe place where they can rebuild their lives with dignity.

Our comprehensive support services include:

  • Secure accommodation and care during pregnancy and early maternity

  • Counseling and therapeutic support

  • Passing on and visibly communicating the love of Christ

  • Educational opportunities so that they can continue their education

  • Vocational qualification for practical life skills

  • Support with reintegration in order to build up independence

Through these programs, we help each young woman regain her self-esteem and develop the skills she needs to create a stable and fulfilling life for herself and her child.
